Shawn Brown is the founder and Executive Director of Pasadena Rosebud Academy Charter School. She has served in the field of education for over 25 years. Ms. Brown holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from California State University, Northridge and a master’s in educational leadership from California State University, Los Angeles. She is the author of The Purpose Driven School, a book that is a navigational system for educational leaders on their quest to fashion great schools. What is the purpose of the Attendance Summits?

The goal of the summits is to bring K-16 educators together from various schools to problem solve the issue of chronic absenteeism. This professional development will provide the opportunity for networking, individual and group vision setting, best practice sharing, and the creation of a concrete action plan to increase student attendance in one semester.

Why is College Reunion hosting an Attendance Summit instead of making the College Reunion film?

The goal of the College Reunion crew is to create a film experience that is more than a movie. While we create the film, we are using our platform to increase college reunions in real life. This is how College Reunion is more than a movie.
